William (Bill) R. Holdridge, 88, of Genoa, IL died peacefully on August 6, 2026 at his home at the Grand Victorian in Sycamore.

He was born on February 16, 1938 in DeKalb, IL.  He was the son of Clifford and Annette (Skelley) Holdridge.  He married Linda Knepper on January 7, 1961 in Genoa, IL.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Bill worked at AG Communications, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Catherine of Genoa Church and the Genoa Lions Club - receiving the Melvin Jones Award.

Bill was a supportive family man who loved spending time with family.  He enjoyed the warm weather in the winter months in Tucson, AZ. with his wife and many dear friends they had grown to cherish.  He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan who enjoyed cheering them on and watching them play.

Bill is now reunited with his wife, Linda in eternal peace.

Survivors include 2 children, Deb (Dale) Pelley and Jill (Greg) Fletcher; 4 grandchildren, Alan (Kira) Lyle, Brian (Rebecca) Lyle, Lindsay (Neil) Hummer and Connor (Alexis) Hansen; 3 great grandchildren, Addison Lyle, Lillian Lyle and James Hummer; one brother, Robert (Marie) Holdridge and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; one son, Dan Holdridge and 2 brothers, Tom and Chuck Holdridge.

His Visitation will be on Sunday, August 9th  from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., in Sycamore, IL.

His Funeral Mass will be on Monday, August 10th at 12:00 (Noon) at the St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL.   The burial will be immediately following the mass at the St. Catherine Cemetery in Genoa, IL.
