William J. Chapman's Obituary
William J. Chapman, 91, of Kirkland, died on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at NW Medicine-Kishwaukee Hospital.
He was born June 15, 1931 in Letart, WV to William Joseph and Garnet (Blessing) Chapman.
He married Glenna (Moon) Chapman on July 21, 1952.
William was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed at Barber Coleman for over 40 years.
He was a faithful member of the Kirkland Methodist Church for many years.
Survivors include his sisters, Pearl Wiegand, Ida Holloway, Inez Melton and Beatrice Whittymore and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna and his son, Bob.
His visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 5th from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the Kirkland United Methodist Church, 300 South St., Kirkland, IL. with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be at the Maple Cemetery in Kirkland with full military rites.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kirkland United Methodist Church or the Northern Illinois War Memorial in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL.
