Wanda A. McMurray, 75, of Kirkland, IL died July 8, 2025 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL.

She was born on April 4, 1950 in Letart, WV to Lester and Alice (Robinson) Chapman.  She married Donald McMurray, Sr. on June 11, 1966.

Wanda was very active in the Kirkland community- serving on numerous Village Boards and volunteering her services unconditionally.  She loved  to help people and never met a stranger.
Everyone appreciated her beautiful flower garden- known as her Hidden Arboretum.  Her children referred to her as "Telephone- Telegraph- Tele Wanda!"   She will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Sr.; her children, Don Jr. (Dorrie) McMurray, David (Ken Konwinski), Lori Stover (Donny Miller), Emily (Josh) Harvel, Sarah Hyde (Kenny Morgan) and Douglas (Christina) McMurray; siblings, Bill (Wanalynn) Chapman, Richard (Shirley) Chapman and Debbie (Bobby) Jones; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Chapman; her mother and step father, Alice and Harry Melvin; sister, Linda Johnson; brother, Charlie Chapman and her grandson.

Her visitation will be on Friday, July 11th from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa.  Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at the Maple Cemetery in Kirkland, IL.
