Virginia Christine Brummel (Janik), cherished sister, mother, grandmother, and wife passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, in Sycamore, IL.

Virginia touched many lives with her kindness, generosity, and love. She served the community as an X-ray technician for more than thirty years. She is remembered for her love of crafting and antiques, gardening, reading, and watching Chicago White Sox Baseball. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be forever missed.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 51 years, Leon Brummel; her dear sister, Rosemary Hornbeck; her brother, Daniel Janik; children Andrew Brummel (spouse Ashley), Jennifer Brummel, Mark Brummel (spouse Janel), David Brummel (spouse Andrea) and Michael Brummel, her grandchildren Lydia, Caden, Roman, Addison, Elise, Brody and Brock, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Stella Janik. She will be forever missed.

A celebration of Virginia's life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and Mass will begin  at 12:00 noon at St. Catherine of Genoa Catholic Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL

A lunch will follow the mass at the church. All are invited.
