Violet Isabella Klassen, 96, of Belvidere, IL died January 12, 2025 at the Maple Crest Care Center in Belvidere.

Violet was born on December 26, 1928, to Fred and Rosa (Davis) Bill, on a farm near Colwell, IA.  She started her education in country schools and finished eighth grade.  Violet was united in marriage to Jerald Klassen on August 12, 1950, who passed away on December 26, 2010.

Violet worked for Argos Products from 1956-1992, retiring after many years of service.  She enjoyed cross-stitching, quilting, sewing and baking.  She especially enjoyed being with family and friends playing 500, Trains and Scratch.

Survivors include her children, Sharon (Gary) Keef of Mt. Crawford, VA; Debbra (Glenn) Stroud Jr. of Genoa, Doug Klassen of Kingston, Steve (Dawn) Klassen of Davis Junction, Marlene Klassen of Romeoville and Tammy (Mike) Kiblinger of Luray, VA; 21 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald Klassen; her son, Dennis Klassen; granddaughter, Tonia Mattingley; son-in-law, Brian Moudy; daughter-in-law, Judy Klassen; 4 brothers and 11 sisters.

Her visitation will be on Friday, January 17th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa.  Her funeral mass will be on Saturday, January 18th at 10:30 AM at the St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL.   Burial will follow at the St. Catherine Cemetery.

After the burial, a luncheon will be held in the Church Parish Hall.
