Verl Kenneth Groth, 87, of Genoa died August 21, 2022 at his home.
He was born on January 18, 1935 in Belvidere to Lester John and Pearl (Crawford) Groth. He married Margaret M. Ball on January 15, 1955.
Verl worked for Seymour of Sycamore, retiring in 1998 after 30 years of service. After his retirement, he worked for the car wash in Genoa until Covid forced out many of the employees.
Verl loved farming, was a hardworking man and great father. He and his wife spent many winters in Arizona where he was very active with outdoor activities, including hiking and water volleyball.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; his children, David (Phyllis) Groth, Linda (Curt) Bugna and Brenda (Allen) Stark; grandchildren, Samantha, Sara, Miles, Lindsey, Michael, Kristen, Hannah and Haley; two great granddaughters, Gabriella and Giuliana; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sharon Duval and Sandra Groth.
Services and burial will be private.
