Terry Lee Lawton, 74,  of Genoa died Friday, July 15, 2022 at his home.

He was born April 7, 1948 in Belvidere. The son of LaVerne and Luella (Ollman) Lawton.  He married Terry A. Storey in 1975 in Kirkland.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era.

Terry was a very hard worker, being employed at GTE Communications in Genoa, Falls Products, Jimmy Odom's Tool & Die and retired from W.S. Hampshire after many years of service.

Terry was always the 'Life of the party'. His nickname was "T-He" or "T- Boy".  He enjoyed being around people, playing darts, bowling, throwing bags and playing horseshoes.

He is survived by four children, Chris (Jose) Guerrero, Amber (David) Walitzer, Corey (Shelly) Lawton and Carmen Lawton;  8 grandchildren, Jaime and Cassandra Guerrero, Jake and Ali Walitzer, Devon Brewington and Rebecca, Rachel and Gia; one brother, Gary "Tuffy"  Lawton (Vera),  3 sisters, Judy Klassen, Trudy Snell and Sandy Lawton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Terry in 2010.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 20 from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa.  His funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. James Freund officiating.  Burial will be a the Genoa Cemetery with full military rites.
