Susan Cooley of Clare, Illinois, passed away on February 4, 2026.

Family, friends, and neighbors are invited to a memorial open house on Saturday, June 27th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the home of Mark and Alyson on East Clare Road, Clare.

Sue was born June 30, 1949, to Oather and Ruth (Nyman) Harlow and graduated from Genoa-Kingston High School, Class of 1967. Sue's siblings are Merilee (Ray) Kingren, John Harlow, and Thomas (Donna) Harlow.

Sue married Jack Cooley in 1971 in Genoa and shared 54 years of adventures together. Her children are Mark (Alyson) Cooley and Jill (Rockey) Adams. Grandma Sue's favorite people are her Grandkids Alyssa, Lincoln, Hudson, Truman Cooley; and Bennett Adams who describe her as fun, playful, happy, giving, patient, petite, resourceful, and a little ball of joy.

Sue cherished her extensive family, friends, and neighbors. She had a creative eye for antiques and primitives and a special talent for upcycling old barn wood. Sue enjoyed a chapter of life living and working in New York City. One of Sue's Happy Places was Northern Minnesota where she spent many days fishing, laughing, and relaxing at the lake with family. She and Jack loved traveling together, enjoying fun cruises and trips to Tennessee, Michigan, Alaska, Colorado, Australia, and many visits to Disney World.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Merilee, and her brother-in-law Ray. Honoring her wishes, her body was donated to medical science.
