Steven A. Sihler of Sycamore, IL passed away at age 76 on January 29, 2025, at Lincolnshire Place of Sycamore. He was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, the son of Frederick and Mary Sihler. He met his wife, Patricia, while they were both students at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. They were married for 52 years and had three children.

Steve graduated in 1970, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Following his graduation, Steve was hired by the Texaco Oil Company as a sales representative for industrial lubricants. Over the next 30 plus years, he held several different positions as a district manager and regional manager of industrial sales. During his long career, he was transferred several times and so the family experienced life in many Midwest states. He retired in Sycamore, IL in 2005, ending his long career working for Shell Oil Company who in 2001, had acquired Texaco in a merger with Chevron.

Steve was a life-long aviation enthusiast. He earned his private pilots license as a teenager. He also held multi-engine and commercial pilot ratings. During his college years he was a flight instructor teaching others to fly and passing along his love of flying planes. Steve also was the proud owner of a 1962 Buick Electra 225 convertible and a member of the Buick Club of America. Steve loved Kentucky basketball and became a proud member of the Big Blue Nation following his Wildcats every game.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; and three children, Molly (Tom) Heneghan, Laura (Brandon) Dailey and Alan (Jamie) Sihler; he had five beautiful grandchildren, Liliana, Dylan, August, Madelyn and Emberly; he is also survived by his sister, Karen (Mike) Hawker in Denver; and their children, William Hawker and Kelly Allen and their families.

His celebration of life service will be held at the Dekalb First United Methodist Church at 2501 North Annie Glidden Road in Dekalb on Thursday, February 20 at 3:00 p.m. with fellowship to follow. Pastor Jonathan Crail will be officiating the celebration service.
