Steven E. Carrier, 45, of Sycamore died October 24, 2023 at the Rush Medical Center in Chicago.

He was born on May 3, 1978 in DeKalb, IL. to Timothy and Linda (Makela) Carrier.  He married Kelly Lamirand on September 21, 2019 in Sycamore.

Steve was a graduate of Sycamore High School, Class of 1996.  He joined the Local 150 Operators Union at the young age of 18.  For the last 10 years he worked for NPL Construction, amongst many close friends.

Steve worked long hours, and for many years he enjoyed his second home at the Johnson Farm.  He grew up helping Denny and Janet on their farm as he was always an outdoorsman.  He was an avid hunter, motorcycle rider and jokester.

His greatest joy was being a father to his three kind and beautiful children.  He was always willing to help people and would wear his heart on his sleeve.  He will be remembered by saying, "I'm kinda a big deal," and to all who knew him- he was a great man.

Survivors include his wife, Kelly; his three children, Caden, Evyn and Quinn; his father Tim Carrier (stepmother Barb) Carrier; two sisters, Deanna Carrier and Amy (Matt) Parks; two step sisters, Julie (Earl) Harcrow and Angela Delmont (Joe LaPointe); several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and his second mother, Janet Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Carrier.

A memorial visitation will be on Sunday, November 5th from 1:00-6:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home in Sycamore.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
