Steve M. Maxstadt, 75, of Sycamore died Sunday, April 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 12, 1947 in Pierce City, MO. He was the son of Mack Cornog and Naomi McClinsey. At the age of 2, his mother married Leo Maxstadt and he raised Steve as his son.
Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in the military for 4 years.
After being discharged from the Marines, Steve drove cement trucks, worked for St. Charles Kitchens for many years and later worked for Dek, Inc. in St. Charles. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and collecting guitars and coins.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Martha; his sons, Bill Maxstadt and Ryan Thompson; his daughter, Megan Brown; sister, Macaline Harrison; brothers, John and Phillip; sisters, Norma and Tina; mother of his son, Cheryl Dewey; many nieces and nephews; his dog, Luke and his cats, Toby and Ellie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Naomi Maxstadt; father, Mack Cornog and his sister, Katherine Maxstadt.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, April 9th from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, Sycamore, IL.
