Stephen C. Lindbeck, 53, of Sycamore died September 7, 2022 at Kishwaukee Hospital in Dekalb surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 27, 1968 in Chicago to Carl S. and Gayle M. (Martin) Lindbeck.

Stephen was a police officer for Hampshire and Malta, IL. until he decided to leave and pursue other opportunities.  He loved to go boating- especially to be near the lake.  Enjoying all music, Stephen was an avid Van Halen fan.

Survivors include his parents, Carl and Gayle; one sister, Nicole (Mike) Boddy; four nieces, Sabrina Gandsey, Sierra (Ian) Engel, Morgana Gandsey and Madisyn Boddy; two nephews, Quinton Gandsey and Griffin Gandsey; his great niece, Genevieve Engel and the son of his heart, Liam McGuire.

He is now in heaven with his beloved dog, Briggs.

His Celebration of Life gathering will be on Saturday, September 17th from 1:00-5:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to a local animal shelter in care of the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
