Stanley A. Skirmont Jr. of Maple Park, 89, died peacefully at Bethany Rehab & Health Care Center, on July 22, 2021.

He was born on July 22, 1932 in Batavia, to Stanley and Marcella (Kukoraitis) Skirmont.

Stanley served in Korea for 2 years, for the Army Corps of Engineers.

He was a plumbing contractor for 30 years, owning Skirmont Mechanical.  On top of being a plumber, Stanley also farmed for 30 years as well.

Stanley is survived by 4 sons, Stan Skirmont III, Steven (Margaret), John (Amy), and David (Julie); and 7 grandchildren, Andrew and Adam, Rebecca and Daniel, Matthew, Abby and Wesley.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his 2 sisters, Ellen in 1986, and Adelia.

Stanley's visitation will be on Tuesday, July 27, from 9:30-10:30 am at Butala Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.  His funeral mass, officiated by Father Carl E. Beekman, will follow at 11:00 am at the St. Mary Church in Sycamore, 322 Waterman St., Sycamore, IL. He will be laid to rest at East Batavia Cemetery, 1100 N Washington Ave., Batavia, IL.
