Shirley Diane Hernandez, 61, of Sycamore died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 10, 1958 in Greeneville, TN to Oral and Helen (Harris) Sexton.  She was married to Edward P. Hernandez.

Shirley worked as a CNA at the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center in DeKalb for over 20 years.  She enjoyed planting flowers, traveling to Tennessee, decorating, cleaning houses and helping people.  She loved all animals- horses and dogs, especially Chihuahuas.  She will be dearly missed by her family and many special friends.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie;  3 daughters, Nicole (Ricardo) Galindo, Jennifer (Dan) Wojcik and Brittney Hernandez (Sean Miller); 4 granddaughters, Raelyn, Neela, Sydney and Sadie; brother, Jim Sexton; sister, Phyllis Sandine and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements were completed by the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, Sycamore, IL.
