Scott David Leach

It is with much sadness that we report the death of our beloved husband, father, son and brother, Scott David Leach. He was born on February 8, 1967, and passed on January 15, 2025.

Scott grew up in Sandwich, Illinois and graduated from Sandwich High School. After high school he attended Northern Illinois University where he met his wife, Barbara.

After school, he started working at Commonwealth Edison (Constellation) and retired in July of 2024 after working for over 30 years. The majority of that time was spent working at Byron Nuclear Plant where he rose to the level of the senior leadership team. During his years with Constellation, he earned numerous certifications and awards and was well-respected in his field.

In his retirement Scott enjoyed traveling and being with family. Family was everything to Scott. He enjoyed spending time with those who brought him great joy and made him laugh every day. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, patience, and love.

He will be so missed by those family members who survive him. These include his wife, Barbara (Brandes) Leach of DeKalb, two amazing daughters, Taylor and Kelsey; mother Mary (Gunderson) Leach of Sandwich, Illinois; brother Brett Leach (Valerie) of Geneva, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, David Leach of Sandwich.

Scott was a private man who never liked to be the center of attention. In order to respect his wishes, there will be no memorial service.
