Scott Thomas Galto, 47, of Cortland died Saturday, December 17,
2022
at the Loyola Medical Center surrounded by his wife and children at the hospital.
He was born August 10,
1975
in Winfield, IL to James and Laura (D'Andrea) Galto. He married Cynthia Olson on October 20, 2001
in Sycamore.
Scott graduated from Glenbard South High School in 1993 and
went on to get his Associates in Criminal Justice from College
of DuPage.
He spent many years working for DuPage County. First, with the Sheriff's
Office as a dispatcher and then with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County as a police officer. After stepping down as a police officer, he continued
with the Forest Preserve as a Ranger. After leaving the Forest Preserve, he held
positions within a couple of nursing homes.
He eventually would work for NIU heating plant, working his way from stationary-fireman up to engineer. After 10 years at NIU, Scott decided it was time to make a change for our future, and recently started working as an engineer for a mental health facility in Dwight.
Scott loved racing! He loved dirt bikes and spent a lot of his younger years
racing throughout the Chicagoland area as well as Mendota. He loved that he got to teach our children at the ages of 2 and 4 to ride dirt bikes and we would spend many weekends over the years taking them to the track to ride. He loved motorcycles! He loved cars and he loved trucks. Literally, anything with an engine, he loved! However, there was nothing he loved more than his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia, his daughter, Arianna Faith, and his son Kayden Scott, all of Cortland. His parents, James and Laura Galto of Glen Ellyn, brother, James Galto of Lombard, brother, Daniel (Stephanie) Galto of Cape Coral, FL, and brother Anthony Galto of
