Ruby "Nadine" Compton

May 8, 1932 – August 23, 2021

Nadine age 89 of Sycamore IL passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 23, 2021.  Born on May 8, 1932 in Belfast Mills VA she was one of 9 children.  She married Curly, the love of her life, on July 14, 1956 and they migrated west settling in Illinois in 1963 where they raised their children.

Nadine lived for her husband, 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  Loving, giving, funny and wise, she was the best Mom and Mamaw anyone could ask for.  Her family was the most important thing in her life.  She loved to cook, playing cards, games and coloring pictures with the grand kids and big family gatherings, these gave her the greatest joy.  She will be missed by many especially her family.

Ruby Nadine Compton, loving Wife, Mother, Mamaw, Great Mamaw and Great Great Mamaw is survived by her 4 children - Linda Reyes (Brian Deaver), Barbara (Joe) Garza, Diana Einhorn (Bob Kleszynski) and Doug (Barb) Compton , 10 grandchildren - Marty Reyes, Tony (Faith) Reyes, Joey (Nicole) Reyes, Richie (Kelly) Reyes, Erica Malone, Matthew (Danielle) Einhorn, Timothy (Irma) Einhorn, Ashley Compton, Elizabeth Compton (D.J. Dirienzo), 11 great grandchildren – Teddy and Roman Reyes, Annie and Manny Reyes, Celeste Reyes, Sierra (Juan) Ochoa, Jackson and Ella Malone, Hailey and Teagan Einhorn and Rio Einhorn, 1 great great grandchild – Silvia Ochoa.  She is also survived by her brother Danny (Faye) Chapman, sister Nancy Payne and many more family members.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Curly Compton, her parents, 6 siblings, son-in-law Jay Reyes and grandson Nicholas Garza.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday August 27, 2021, from 4:30pm-7:30pm at the Butala Funeral Home located at 1405 Dekalb Ave, Sycamore IL 60178, with a service to begin at 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois in the name of Ruby Nadine Compton.  Donations can be made directly through the Butala Funeral Home 1405 Dekalb Ave, Sycamore IL 60178.
