Obituary

Ronald Wesche, 79 years old, of DeKalb Illinois, fell asleep in death on August 13, 2019.
He was bom on April 21, 1940 to Henry and Betty (Connelly) Wesche in Chicago Illinois. Ron was
currently employed at First Student in Dekalb Illinois as a bus driver as well as owning and
operating A & A Carpet Cleaning Company.
In his youth he appreciated fast cars. Over the years he enjoyed attending a number of car
shows. He also had an affinity for riding motorcycles, he had owned a Harley Davidson
Sportster, and an Indian Motorcycle. Too, Ron had a passion for Cadillacs just like his father.
He was fascinated with steam trains, had an appreciation for opera and old tv shows and
always had interesting stories about driving the school bus which he enjoyed very much.
On May 3, 1958 he would symbolize his dedication to Jehovah God and faithfully serve as
one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 61 years. Previously, he had the privilege of serving as a Bethel
Elder during his term of Bethel service. At that time he would visit congregations to encourage
them and deliver a special program, featuring talks delivered on Saturday night and on the
following Sunday morning. Currently, Ron was serving as a Ministerial Servant in the Dekalb
congregation. Over the years a variety of congregations enjoyed hearing him give the public
talk. Ron loved to read and learn about new things, ranging from the chronology of the Bible,
the history of ancient Babylon to the architecture of tall ships, dinosaurs and global warming,
more than one person has referred to him as the "walking encydopedia". Because of that
gathered knowledge and wisdom he was an apt conversationalist, and truly enjoyed
association with all his spiritual brothers and sisters.
Ron liked to reminisce about growing up and in his family, he often expressed how he really
loved and appreciated them ... especially his grandmother and grandfather who raised him. He
enjoyed showing his slides and looking through his pictures, relating stories about each and
everyone of them.
Survivors include his 2 half brothers, Robert Wesche and Dennis Wesche.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Betty Wesche, his sister Joni Mattis and
niece Kim Mattis.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah's Witnesses located at 13867 Barber Greene Rd, Sycamore, IL. 60178.   A luncheon
will follow immediately after at the Cortland Lyons Den, 70 S. Llanos St.
Arrangements were completed by the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore.
