Roberta Jones Bailey, 79 of Sycamore, IL passed away on Friday April 26, 2024, at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital. Roberta was born in Grapeland Mississippi, to the daughter of Theodore Chapman and Flossie Mae (Greer) Chapman. She was later adopted by her father's sister, and her husband Estella (Chapman) and Clifton Jones Sr of Sycamore, Illinois. Roberta attended school in Sycamore and graduated from the class of 1964. Roberta worked at Turner Brass Company for over 30 years until their doors closed in 1999. Anyone who knew Roberta knew that she was family-oriented and had such a quiet spirit. But when she got to know you, she could talk for hours. Roberta was a proud mother of her two girls Latonia and Katrina that she loved very deeply. Roberta was also a member of North Avenue Missionary Baptist church in Sycamore Illinois. Roberta was married to Benjamin Bailey of Sycamore, Illinois.

Roberta Bailey is survived by her two daughters, Latonia (Warren) Jackson of Sycamore; Katrina (James) Prothero of Dekalb, Illinois; 5 grandchildren: Jasmine, Jada, from Sycamore; Alisha, Zoey, and Sarah from Dekalb. She is survived by survived by her siblings, Eloise Knight of Cal Park, IL, David Chapman of Fort-Worth, Texas, Harold Jenkins of Orland Park IL, Virgina (Robert (deceased) Sherrod of Sycamore, and Joyce Oliver of Vacaville, CA. Special nieces: Monica Waller, Nicole Chapman, nephews: Jarred Jones and Victor J. Bundy. She is further survived by many relatives and friends. She is preceded by death by both sets of parents: Theodore and Flossie May Chapman; Clifton and Estella (Chapman) Jones; 3 brother's: Clifton Jones Jr., Robert Earl Jenkins and Calvin Jenkins; 1 brother-in law: Robert Sherrod Jr, and a list of other relatives that has passed thru the rainbow.

A celebration of life will be on May 18th, 2024, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Dekalb Illinois. Visitation will be held from 11am-12pm, service from 12pm-1pm, and repass will be from 1pm-3pm. The family of Roberta Bailey would like to thank the staff of Dekalb County and Nursing Center, various doctors, and Kishwaukee Hospital for the great care that they gave Roberta.
