Robert R. Svoboda, 60, of Kingston died on November 10, 2024 at his home.

He was born on September 2, 1964 in Aurora, IL to James and Leona (Tidey) Svoboda. He married Deborah Stout on September 20, 2002.

Rob was primarily an autobody specialist, but throughout his career he mastered all aspects of automotive maintenance and modification.

His lifelong passion was anything with wheels, but there was a special place in his heart for motorcycles. Rob's Grandpa Beezley got him his first motorcycle and every chance he got he would take Rob to the Arizona desert to teach him how to ride. His Grandpa Beezley also introduced him to Deborah Stout in 1979. Rob's Dad, Jim, inspired his fascination with mechanical engineering which continued throughout his whole life, and was the reason that he found so much joy in taking an engine apart and putting it back together. Rob took every opportunity to help people keep their wheels going, which was instilled in him by his Grandpa's giving attitude.

Rob loved taking his kids camping in Michigan where his dad grew up and on bicycle rides through the towns where he grew up. He always tried to have something special to do with his grandkids. He was so excited to pass his love of motorcycles down, not only to his children, but especially his grandchildren.

Survived by his wife Deborah Svoboda; his children Tyler (Courtney) Svoboda, Olivia (Alexander) Catenzaro, and Chloe (Erik Garcia) Svoboda; his grandchildren Liam and Layla Svoboda. As well as his siblings Nannette (Michael) Grommes, James (Angela) Svoboda, Jon Svoboda, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Leona Svoboda, as well as his Stepmother Bonnie Svoboda; his Grandparents James and Rose Svoboda; his Grandpa Donald Beezley; and his first wife Rebecca Arnold, mother of his son Tyler Svoboda.

His Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be on Saturday, November 16th at Faranda's Banquets, 302 Grove St., DeKalb, IL. The receiving line will be from 5:00-6:00 PM. The service and a time for people to share memories will be from 6:00-7:00 PM. A dinner will follow from 7:00-9:00 PM.
