Robert A. Stiles, 62, of Sycamore died February 27, 2021 at his family home.
He was born August 1
st
, 1958 in Lagrange IL to Robert and Audrey Stiles. Bob spent many years working in the computer industry, working in IT departments as well as building and repairing computers. He later became a truck driver and often shared stories of his cross-country adventures and his love for travel. Bob was a ham radio enthusiast.
He also enjoyed tinkering and building computers, radios, and just about anything he could get his hands on. He had a knack to fix just about anything. Bob always had a love for motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson, and owned a few throughout his lifetime. He felt the most free with two wheels on the open road, wind in his hair, and no destination in mind. Bob was preceded in death by three amazing women, whom he spoke of often & missed dearly, his grandmother Marguerite, Mother Audrey, and sister Elizabeth. All three were educators with an avid love of books, so Bob learned from the best. He loved diving deep into one of the hundreds of books found in his home, particularly historical non-fiction, crime, or military fiction. Bob was a proud army veteran who was honorably discharged. He was able to form life-long friendships with the brothers from his unit, many of which he stayed in touch with.
Anyone who knew Bob knew how quick witted, funny, and charming he was. He was a phenomenal storyteller and loved to spend his days with his family and friends keeping them entertained with his unrivaled sense of humor. He was a father not only to his three children, but his best furry friend, Shelby. He rescued Shelby when he was fourteen months old, and he instantly became his most loyal sidekick.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children Justin (Danielle) Stiles, Jessica (Randy) White, and Brittany Stiles, his former wife and life-long friend Jane Stiles, and his four grandchildren Lilyana, Elliot, Bennett, and Tessa.
He has joined in harmony his father Robert Stiles, Mother Audrey Stiles, grandmother Marguerite McCullah, and sister Elizabeth Knight.
