Robert F. Miller, 91, of Genoa died Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home.
He was born on August 25, 1930 in Elgin to Henry and Kathryn (Steikling) Miller. He married Mary Lou (Wurtz) Kuhn on Nov. 7, 1981 in Genoa.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the St. Catherine of Genoa Church, active in the men's club at the church and a member of the Hampshire Chapter of the Order of the Foresters.
Bob was a self-employed carpenter for over 50 years, who was sought after by many. He loved to garden- growing beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables that he shared with family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Lou; his step-children, Bill (Lisa) Kuhn, Paul (Linda) Kuhn, Lisa (Bill) Smits and Jim (Amy) Kuhn; 9 grandchildren, Michael (Jenna), Jason, Brian (Megan), Becky (Herb), Patrick, Mindy, Ryan, Matt (Kelly) and J.P.; 5 great grandchildren, Herbie, Blake, Boyd, Clint and Nora and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
His visitation will be on Friday, Feb. 4th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa.
His funeral mass will be on Saturday, Feb. 5th at 11:00 AM at the St. Catherine Church of Genoa, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL. Burial will be at the St. Catherine Cemetery.
