Robert John Baltrum's Obituary
Robert John Baltrum, 76, of Genoa died Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL.
He was born on May 21, 1945 in Oak Park, IL. He was the son of Paul and Marie (Eagan) Baltrum. He married Lorraine Rausa on Dec. 23, 1967.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy as a naval aviator/flight instructor and Reserve Officer, retiring at the rank of Commander.
He was a pilot for American Airlines for 20 years as First Officer and Captain flying several different aircraft over his career.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Baltrum, his son Robert Baltrum Jr. and his wife Kristen Baltrum (Bruner) and grandchildren James and Madeline and his son James Baltrum and his wife Ann Rodriguez-Baltrum and grandchildren Cameron and Loretta. Also survived by his brother Paul and his wife Nancy and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul and mother, Marie.
His funeral mass will be on Saturday, Sept. 4th at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
