Richard A. Clausen

Richard A. (Dick) Clausen of DeKalb, IL. was the fifth of six children born of Niles P. and Ellen (Johnson) Clausen in DeKalb, IL. Raised on his parents farm east of Cortland, IL., with his siblings, Niles B., Mary Ellen, Louise, Barbara and Carol. All the children attended the one room Ward eight grade elementary school.

As "Dick" aged, he joined his dad, brother and neighbors during rabbit and pheasant hunting season in the area. Each child had chores, as they became of age, in the house and outside on the farm.

"Dick" graduated in 1951 from Maple Park High School and enlisted into the United States Air Force. During enlistment he learned and serviced equipment on aircrafts. This helped him to be an Electrical Maintenance employee at both Anaconda Wire & Cable Co. and Ideal Industries, Inc. in Sycamore, IL. He retired from Ideal in 1998.

"Dick" married Roberta Newton in 1958 and of this marriage four children were born- Victoria Anne Ovitz, Richard Kurt Clausen, Scott Christian Clausen and Kerry Kathryn Yandel.

He is also survived by two sisters Mary Ellen Ikeler and Barbara Haag.

"Dick" was preceded in death by his parents, brother Niles B. Clausen and two sisters Louise Dewey and Carol Click.

Interment of cremated remains will be held at a later date at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb, IL.
