Phyllis M. McNeely, 77, of Genoa, formerly of Streamwood, died on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at her home.

She was born August 8, 1944  in Logan, WV. The daughter of John and Emma Marie (Swiney) Grimmett.  Phyllis married Joe McNeely on Jan. 27, 1964.

Phyllis was wonderful homemaker.  She loved to spend time with her family- especially with her husband, children and grandchildren.  She found much joy when the family would come to visit her.

Survivors include her children, Jerry McNeely, Terry (Debra) McNeely and Frances (Don) Gorrell;  her grandchildren, Terry (Shantelle) McNeely, Stephanie (Mike) Dickey, Mark McNeely, Phyllis Gorrell, Joey McNeely, John (Amy) McNeely, Jake McNeely and Donny Gorrell; 11 great grandchildren; 5 siblings, Jackie Craddock, Ruth Ann McDowell, Kathie (Jerry) Eplin, Billy Grimmett and Jimmy Grimmett; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; great granddaughter, Claire Dickey; and 2 sisters, Linda Perry and Thelma Sumler.

Her  Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa, IL.

Her Funeral Service will be on Saturday, August 13th  at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home.  Burial will be at North Kingston Cemetery.
