Obituary

Paulette Marie Tewksbury, 72 of Sycamore passed away surrounded by her family whom she dedicated her life to. Paulette was born in Burlington, IL on April 4,1949 to John and Martha Kirchmann. She was the 8th child out of 12. She attended Burlington schools then graduated from Hiawatha High School.
Paulette worked at Ideal Industries for 29 years, after retirement she filled her days with grandchildren, TjMaxx, crafting, scrabble, and an avid supporter of the Salvation Army and all things thrift. Where others saw something old and used, she found a treasure to refurbish.
She taught kindness and instilled confidence in her children whom she fondly called her Fab Five and she considered her biggest accomplishment.
She was known for her oversized chocolate chip cookies amongst her family and her green thumb. Her husband fondly called her the best cook and boasted she could whip up a full meal on nothing. She loved dancing and was known to be the first one on the floor bringing a crowd whether it be in her living room or a social gathering.
If you encountered Paulette, you were greeted with a bright smile with an added wink. This smile will be missed dearly by her family and her friends.
She was united in marriage to Timothy Tewksbury on August 6th, 1977 in Sycamore, where they would build their life together. They shared 5 children together and 13 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years. Her children Tim (Lori) Casey, Colleen (Donald) Butts, Sarah (John) Kristin, Julie (Erik) Jordal and Dean (Randi) Tewksbury and her dog Murphy Brown.
Her grandchildren, Taylor, Nathan, Trevor Katrina, Zach, Joey, Nicole, Nicholas, Brooke, Cayden, Calli, Chloe and Cooper.
Her brothers and sisters Ernest (Marty) Kirchmann, Germain (Tony) Vanderheyden, John (Carol) Kirchman, Kathleen Geen, Diane(Vern) Long, Josephine Susina, Andy (Debbie) Kirchmann, Susie (Jim) Smith.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, her in-laws, Donald and Eva Tewksbury, her grandson, Caleb Tewksbury, she is joyfully reunited, probably over a game of scrabble with her sisters, Jean Hardt, Janet Walk and Sharon Voyles.
Her memorial visitation will be on Monday, May 10th from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.  A Celebration of Life Service - presented by the family- will start at 3:30 PM on Monday.
