Patty J. Russell, of Genoa, IL peacefully went to her Heavenly home on  September 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  Over her 85 years, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family.

She was born on September 12, 1939 in Lafayette, Indiana to Noah Charles and Edna Irene (Tatman) Hartman.   She married Larry L. Russell on April 24, 1971.

Patty's life was devoted to her children Kurt, Lori, Lisa and Kelli and her many grandchildren. She made sure her family felt her support throughout their lives.

Patty attended Ball State University in Muncie Indiana before she transferred to Purdue University in Lafayette Indiana where she finished her education.

Patty retired from Northern Illinois University where she worked for many years.

Patty loved to write poems, sew and attend church.  She had a love for singing and playing games with her family.

Patty is survived by Larry, her husband of 53 years, son Kurt (Lori) Peffley, daughters Lori (George) Gholian, Lisa Russell, Kelli (Dennis) Holland. Grandchildren Joshua (Allison) Peffley, Tyler (Courtney) Russell, Jerica (Tyler) Norton,  Ashli (Caleb) Valkovich, Jacob (Jessica) Peffley,  Demetrie Russell, Kayla (Seth ) Dominguez, DeAngelas Russell,  Haley (Connor) Jorgensen,  Alexis Peffley, Marisah Holland and Amanda Gholian plus several great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Charles and Edna Irene Hartman and her sister, Eugena Myers
