Patricia Ann Morton, 71, of Sycamore, IL died on November 11, 2022 at her home.
She was born February 5, 1951 in Sycamore to Francis and Beatrice (Carlson) Lanan.
A life-long resident of Sycamore, IL , Pat graduated from DeKalb High School in 1969 and received a BS from Northern Illinois University in 1974 with an education degree, specializing in business education. She completed her Student teaching at Batavia HS but chose the business world over teaching about it. She was a people-person. She never knew a stranger and could talk to anyone. She loved to travel even if some destinations were only in her dreams. The youngest of 3 children she was unexpected but always loved.
She worked at Anaconda where she married her husband, Luke Morton; then at the Business College at NIU followed by time at Blackhawk Moving. Pat and Luke also owned and operated a Limo Service for several years known at BFF - Best Foot Forward.
Pat loved to shop! She could find a clearance rack with a bargain anywhere!
Survived by her 101 year old mother, Bea "Mamo" (Carlson-Lanan) Korn of DeKalb, IL; her brother, Bud Lanan and wife Dr. Vivian Van Rockel of St. Charles, IL & niece, Meredith Lanan of Chicago, IL; her brother, Jerry Lanan and wife Kathryn of League City, Texas, nieces BK Power of Seabrook, TX and Karley Lanan Power of Houston, TX, her beloved puppy dogs, Tobey and Bandit and extended family (including the Lanan, Morton & Hurley families) and her dear friends Deb Reiners and Debbie Lang.
Preceded in death by her father, Fran Lanan and her husband of 44 years, Luke Morton less than one year ago on Christmas Day, 2021.
Celebration of Life will be Sunday, December 4, 2022 beginning with visitation from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Avenue, Sycamore, IL 60178, followed by a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve Persson officiating.
