Patricia Ann Denton, 79, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 after a 5+ year battle with dementia.

Patti, as she preferred to be called, was born October 27th ,1944 in Dekalb to Bernard and Charlotte (Hayes) Mihm. She resided in Shabbona until her graduation from Shabbona High School.

Patti is survived by her daughter Michelle (John) McKeon of Dekalb, son Steven (Erin) Kaus of Plainfield and step-daughter Gail-Marie (Paul Sr.) Dailey both of whom oversaw her care throughout her illness. Patti is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Patti retired to Florida with her husband of 26 years, Billy Dean Denton, who preceded her in death in 20l7. Prior to that, she lived in Montgomery where her and Billy met. At that time, Patti worked for Kettley Realtors, a job she very much enjoyed and was very well liked there. While living in Florida, Patti came out of retirement to work both for the Pasco County Sheriff s office in the evidence department as well as the Pasco County School District, working alongside her husband, Billy.

She enjoyed the daily interaction with children. Patti enjoyed being a homemaker, loved to cook Bill's favorite dishes, and enjoyed hosting friends and family. She loved to do all types of crafting, crocheting and watching crime shows and shopping with her stepdaughter. She will be dearly missed. Her quick wit and generous nature were her greatest gifts shared with those closest to her.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center for the great care they had given to Patti.
