Norman F. Baumgartner, 82, of Genoa, IL died July 24, 2024 at his home.

He was born on September 8, 1941 in Melrose Park, IL to Emrich and Emma (Helmold) Baumgartner.  He married Sandra Keef on September 22, 1962.

Norman worked at Driv-Lok in Sycamore for over 30 years and was a life-long farmer in rural Genoa.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra; daughter, Barbara (Rick) Gast; son, Dale Baumgartner; his grandchildren, Colton, Kendra, Cole and Will and one cousin, George (Joanne) Helmold.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two cousins, Richard and Fred Helmold.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Melvin Keef, Laurine with Peaks Home Care and Compassus Hospice, especially Abby and Terry for their thoughtful care and compassion.

His visitation will be on Saturday, July 27th from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL. 60135.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM.

A graveside service will follow at the Genoa Twp Cemetery- Busse Edition on North State Road in Genoa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.  They will determine a charity at a later date.
