Norma Dorothy Weber, 91, of DeKalb died Saturday, December 26, 2020 at her home.

She was born on  December 19, 1929 in Crete, IL.   The daughter of Emily (Schweer) and Fred Wassmann. Norma was second youngest of 5 children all that have preceded her in death.  William Wassmann, Edna Coy, Anita Piepenbrink, Ralph Wassmann.

Norma attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and Crete High School.  After high school she worked at Illinois Shade Company typing up orders in the billing department.   On May 1, 1949 Norma married Beryl Weber at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crete, IL.

Beryl worked for his father until 1953 when Norma and Beryl started farming on their own on a rented farm that they worked for 13 years.  They have two sons, William Weber and Robert Weber.

Upon Beryl's father's retirement they took over and moved onto Beryl's family's farm in rural Beecher Illinois.

In 1979 Norma started working in the church office of St John Evangelical church, Beecher, IL where she worked for 16 years.   Early on in her work, a new member of the family came into our hearts.  Brad Grover, the pastor at St Johns adopted our family and grew close to all of us.  God be with him and his family as he fights brain cancer before his trip to heaven.

After the dairy part of the farm was sold in 1984, Norma helped several elderly ladies with meals and housework.

In 1997 Norma & Beryl retired and moved to DeKalb, IL to be near Bob.  Norma and Beryl helped with the senior ministry for 10 years, helped in the church folding bulletins and church newsletters.  Norma also visited people in nursing homes.  DeKalb became a new home to Norma and Beryl.

She is survived by her loving family: husband, Beryl; son William Weber, his wife Mildred and children Kelly, Justin, Julia, and David; son Robert Weber, his wife Xiling and son Leilei; and her honorary son Brad Grover, his wife Mary Lou and children Debbie and Susan.

She was preceded in death by her four siblings, William, Edna, Anita and Ralph as well as a great grandson and a great granddaughter.

A private memorial service will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sycamore and a private burial will be at a later date at the Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
