In loving memory of Nicole Lynn Ross.

Nicole Ross (29), of Cortland, IL died from a tragic accident, on Thursday, May 2 2024.

Nicole was born on December 10, 1994, to Bryan and Lisa Ross in Elmhurst, IL. Nicole is the beloved older sister to Lauren Ross. She grew up in Cortland, IL and graduated from Sycamore High School in 2013.

Nicole was the loving mother to Skyler (5) and step-mother to Sebastian (9). Nicole was the perfect "boy mom". She spent a lot of time taking the boys to the race track, going on outdoor adventures, and listening to music.

Nicole recently became a licensed Cosmetologist, which she had a natural talent for. Between cosmetology school and waitressing at Sorrento's, Nicole had so many close friends and clients that considered her as family. In her free time, Nicole loved to take care of her many plants and do various crafty activities. Everyone who knew Nicole would describe her as kind, smart, talented, persistent, and strong. She had a passion for helping others, and anyone could count on her.

Nicole is survived by her parents, Bryan and Lisa Ross; sister, Lauren Ross; children, Skyler and Sebastian McGiffen; grandparents, Linda and Jim Proudfoot, David Sucholl; aunts and uncles, Denise Graziano (George Hernandez), Tony Graziano, Roberta Ross, Bobby Ross, Liz Proudfoot, and Jim Proudfoot; cousins, Matthew and Gianna Graziano, and Issac Proudfoot; and many other extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Georgia Ross, Robert Ross, Anne Sucholl; and aunt, Chris Sucholl.

She is reunited with her children's dad, Sebastian McGiffen who suddenly passed away on December 25, 2022.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.  Another visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 11 at the funeral home.  Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Following the service there will be a burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
