Nathan P. Johnson, 98, of Sycamore died July 10, 2025 at his home in Sycamore.
Nathan was born on May 12, 1927 in Humboldt, IA to Edward and Mabel (Rapple) Johnson. He married Mina Rhodes on September 20,1958 in Humboldt, IA
He served in the US Army during WWII from July 1945 to January 1947.
Employed by DEKALB Ag for 46 years as the construction building engineer he retired in September of 1993.
Member of the Masonic Lodge chapter of the Freemasonry in Illiopolis, IL for 75 years.
Member of the Sycamore United Methodist Church, serving on several boards and Men's Club.
Hobbies included woodworking, Planting trees, gardening as well as caring for his diverse fruit tree orchard. He loved to donate garden produce to those in need. He was also known to drop anything at any time to help others in need.
Survivors include-his wife(Mina), 3 sons David(Sherry), Charles (Vicki), Kyle (Tracy). 3 Granddaughters Hannah, Suzanne and Candace and 1 Grandson Ethan and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and 3 brothers.
In lieu of flowers, a Memorial will be established for the Sycamore United Methodist Church.
A Private Memorial service will be held at the Sycamore United Methodist Church.
Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore with full military honors.
