Obituary

Nathan James Dodson, 37, passed away suddenly at his home, in Kingston, IL on June 3, 2020.

He was born on August 16, 1982 in DeKalb, IL to Ellen (Miller) and David Dodson.

He married Nicole Turner on September 2, 2008 in Green Cove Springs, FL.  Together they had two beautiful daughters, Savanna and Natalie.

He is survived by his wife, Nicole;  his daughters, Savanna and Natalie; his parents, Ellen (Steve) Anderson and David (Marsha) Dodson; his father-in-law, Terry Turner; his sisters, Dione Dodson (Troy Voyles), Dakota White, Kayli White, and Tiffani White; his brother, Michael (Ryan) Orlowski; his grandparents, Les and Martha Miller and Dorothy Thomas; his aunt, Tammy Schnorr; his nephews, Kobey Dodson and Ryan Voyles; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nate served in the United States Navy, as a construction electrician in the Seabees.  He was stationed at NMCB-1 in Gulport, MS, Naval Air Station Jacksonville in Jacksonville, FL, Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily.  He served on the U.S.S. Comfort for a humanitarian Cruise around South America.  He also deployed to Guam, Japan, Spain, and Greece.  After his military career he returned to his hometown with his wife and daughters.  He has been working at the Target Distribution Center in DeKalb, for the past 8 years.

Nate was loved by so many and will truly be missed.

A private visitation will be held at 10 AM – 12 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Butala Funeral Home in Sycamore, IL.  A graveside service will be at 12:30 PM at the Malta Cemetery with military rites.  A public memorial will be held at a later date at his home in Kingston, IL.

Arrangements were completed by the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore.
