Mother Eva M. Talley was born on August 8, 1932 in Whelen Springs, Arkansas to Bert Lyons and Allie Hubbard. Mother Talley, 86, departed this life on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL. She was surrounded by her close family.

On June 25, 1949 she united in marriage to (Bishop) Ray L. Talley of Rockford, Illinois and unto them were born eight children.

Mother Talley joined The Israel of God's Church around the year of 1950 after her husband had been attending about one year. She met Reverend Mose L. Hicks and after a conversation with him, she knew the Israel of God's Church was her home.  Once becoming a member, she dedicated her life to the church.  Her husband became a minister in church. holding offices of Elder, Reverend and eventually Auxiliary Bishop. As his dedicated wife, she was instrumental in managing the kitchens in each church location he was appointed to. These cities included Galesburg, IL, Indianapolis, IN, Rockford, IL and Los Angeles, CA.

Mother Talley loved to cook and enjoyed working in the church kitchen. She loved people enjoying her cooking.  She cooked for many family members, friends and church family in her home. She always enjoyed being around a host of family and church members. Mother Talley loved to keep things clean and spotless white. She took great pride in decorating her home.

Mother Talley moved to DeKalb, Illinois following her husband's death in 2002. She was under the care of her daughter, Sister Diane Ashley and was also especially grateful for the time spent with her two granddaughters Sister Sierra Ashley and Sister Tiana Hayden, and her great granddaughter, Sister Maliyah Hayden. Mother Talley moved to DeKalb County Nursing Home in 2013 and lived there until her death.
