Michael J. Wolf, 70, of Genoa died peacefully on April 9, 2023 at his home.

He was born on July 5, 1952 in Belvidere, IL. to Michael F. and Dolores M. (Wirth) Wolf.  He married Betty A. Hayes on October 12, 1974.

Michael was a telephone lineman for 42 years, retiring from Frontier Communications. He was a Bears fan, liked to watch Westerns and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.  Michael enjoyed woodworking and made many beautiful Christmas ornaments  for his family.  He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; 3 children, Sarah (Mark) Eifel, Joseph (Natalie) Wolf and Amy Wolf (TJ Eichorst); 10 grandchildren, Lauryn, Ian, Caitlin and Declan Eifel, Kayden and Gavin Wolf, Elizabeth and Ava Clark, Carson and Graham Eichorst; 5 siblings, Susan (Lenny) Payne, Pam (Mark) Johnson, Deb (Al) Ross, Joe (Karen) Wolf and Lisa (Marshall) Eberly; his sister-in-law, Janet (Ray) Nelson and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson in infancy, Ethan and his brother-in-law and his wife, Ron and Gretchen Hayes.

His visitation will be on Friday, April 14th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa, IL.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 10:30 AM at the St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL.  Burial will follow at the St. Catherine Cemetery.

A luncheon will be in the church hall following the graveside service.
