Michael Alan Walsh, 60, of Genoa, IL passed away suddenly on November 27, 2024, at Northwestern Kishwaukee Hospital, in DeKalb, IL.

He is missed terribly by his wife, Carolyn; his sons, Michael Patrick (Savannah), Matthew (Hailey); stepchildren, Cole and Elaina Swafford; grandson, River; parents, Gary and Judy Walsh; mother-in-law, Peggy Scheppele; brother, Tom (Pam); sister, Terri (Loren) Winfrey; sister-in-law, Susan Scheppele; nephews, nieces, and a group of lifelong friends.

Mike was born and raised in Streamwood, IL. He obtained his associates degree at Elgin Community College. He worked at Armin Tool and Manufacturing Company for over 30 years, starting in the shop and then as a tooling engineer.

Mike was an extremely hard worker who was always there to help if you needed a hand. His passions were landscape photography (especially waterfalls), Blues music, and a good whiskey at the end of the day. He wanted to travel everywhere but still loved being at home floating in the pool during the summer and sitting in front of the wood burning stove in the winter. Above all, he was extraordinarily proud of his two sons.

His memorial visitation will be on Sunday, December 8, from 1:00-4:00 PM at CrossWind Community Church, 13100 Cherry Rd, Genoa, IL 60135, with a celebration of life to follow at 4:00 PM.
