Michael J. Corson's Obituary
Michael J. Corson, 74, of Genoa died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Anam Care Nursing Home in Rockford.
He was born May 27, 1947 in Sycamore to James and Marie (Conro) Corson.
Mike worked in the cement business for years doing flatwork and finishing cement. He also did a lot of carpentry and remodeling work. He was employed at Greenlee Textron as a machinist in Genoa IL, where he later retired from.
His hobbies included riding and training horses and antiquing. He loved to spend his spare time on trail rides or going to auctions.
Survivors include his sisters, Donna (John) Eveans of Bloomington, IL. and Sally (Dorneden) of Sturgeon Bay, WI.; his sons, Michael (Tina) of Poplar Grove, IL. and James (Dianna) of Watertown, TN. Mike had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Marie of Kinston, IL. and his sister, Velma (Roger) Chapman of Winslow, IL.
His visitation will be on Thursday, March 17th from 4:00-7:00 PM at the
Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL.
