Michael Paul Coffey, 61, of Kingston died November 21, 2025 at his home.

He was born on March 23, 1964 in DeKalb, IL. to Donald and Clara (Bruenning) Coffey.

Michael was a graduate of the Genoa-Kingston High School- Class of 1982 and received his Associate degree from Kishwaukee Community College.

Michael devoted many years to construction work, where his strong skills earned his respect from his coworkers.  He also spent much of his life working on the family farm, where he learned the value of honest work. He took pride in carrying on family traditions.

Outside of work, Michael enjoyed playing basketball and football.  Whether shooting hoops or cheering on his favorite team were his way of relaxing and sharing stories with friends and family.

Survivors include his parents, Donald and Clara Coffey; 2 sisters, Cathy (LeRoy) Newlun and Carolyn (Matt) Long; one brother, Patrick Coffey and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Sherry Lynn Coffey and Cheryl Korth.

His visitation will be on Friday, November 28th from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL.   A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the St. Catherine Cemetery in Genoa.
