Maryann "Mert" Weinert, 63, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at the University of Illinois Chicago after spending 12 days on life support following heart complications.

Maryann was born on November 19, 1962, in Sycamore, Illinois, to John and Patricia Weinert. She grew up in Sycamore, graduated from Sycamore High School, and later spent time living in Texas before returning home. After returning to Sycamore, she enjoyed helping with the family's business, The Uptown.

Maryann lived life on her own terms. Her journey was not always easy, and she faced challenges that shaped much of her life. Through it all, she remained someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone, make people laugh, and leave an impression wherever she went. She had a memorable laugh, and a personality that people didn't easily forget. She left an impression on people because she was unapologetic herself

Family meant a great deal to Maryann. She is survived by her daughter, Taylour Browning; her beloved grandchildren, Falyn Browning and Carter Kunkel; her sister, Lori Ireton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember her in their own special way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Patricia Weinert.

Like all of us, Maryann's life included both joys and struggles. Those who knew and loved her will remember not only the challenges she faced, but also her smile, her laughter, and the love she carried for her family. May she now rest in peace.
