Mary Ann (nee Villella) Surdy, 81, of Sycamore died Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at NW Medicine- Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL.
She was born June 12, 1939 in Chicago. Mary Ann was a 1957 graduate of Providence High School, Chicago. She was employed by Automatic Electric Company for many years. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary in Sycamore, IL.
Mary Ann was the beloved wife of 34 years (nearly 35) to the late Frank W. Surdy; devoted daughter of the late Angelina (Costabile) and the late Bennie Villella of Villa Park; loving sister of the late Daniel Villella of Arizona, Anthony Villella, Carmella Peter (Ray) and Josephine Amendola (Mario), all of Huntley; cherished aunt of David Peter, Blake Peter (Natalie), Ellie Stefanic (Jason), and Michael Amendola (Megan); and great aunt of Kennedy Cartwright, Gabi Peter, Lilliana Stefanic, Amelia Stefanic, Violet Amendola, Eleanor Amendola, Luke Amendola (who has preceded her in death).
Her visitation will be on Friday, Oct. 16th from 3:00-8:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. Social distancing must be followed and facial coverings must be worn at all time while in the funeral home to comply with the IDPH Covid regulations.
A scripture service will be recited at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 PM.
Her funeral mass will be on Saturday, Oct. 17th at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Mary, 244 Waterman St., Sycamore, IL. with Fr. Carl Beekman officiating. Burial will be at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
