Mary Louise (Underwood) Schaack, 95, of Kingston, IL died peacefully at her home on March 1, 2024.

She was born in Sycamore, IL on September 10, 1928 to Cyrus and Marie (Teas) Underwood.  Mary met the love of her life at a dance at the Sycamore Armory after the end of World War II.  She married Joseph Robert Schaack on January 8, 1949.  She and Bob shared 61 wonderful years together until his death in 2010.

Mary's passion, besides her family, were knitting, crocheting, reading, and baking.  She attended as many sporting events of her 10 grandchildren as she was able.  Bob and her loved to travel and see new places throughout the United States.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Joe, her parents, brothers Gene and Kenny Underwood, 5 great grandchildren, and many loved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Survivors include daughters Carol (Jay) Hencken and Kaye (Steve) Caldwell of Genoa, a daughter-in-law Susan Schaack of Belvidere and 10 grandchildren, Sarah (Jeff) Craig, Jay (Andrea) Schaack, Kristen (James) Eby, Deanna (Jason) Bennefield, Lindsay (Marc) Mota, Dan (Rita) Caldwell, Brian (Shawna) Caldwell, Brad (Jill) Caldwell, Andrew (Lindsey) Caldwell, and Kristi Kendzie, 32 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A family service will be in the near future.
