Jane Buzzell, 79, died on Sept. 4, 2024 at NM Medicine-Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.
She was born in Elmwood, IL. She graduated from Bushnell Prairie City High School in 1963 and received a degree from DeKalb Beauty School and began working at Bonnie's Hair Salon in Genoa. From 1966-1992, Jane worked at A.G. Communications in Genoa. After her retirement, Jane went to work at the DeKalb County Administration building, daycare in Genoa and was the secretary at the Faith United Methodist Church in Genoa.
Jane and her husband, Wayne were married on February 23, 1973. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Jane and Wayne spent many winters in Florida where they owned a home in Raintree R.V. Resort in North Fort Myers. Jane's true joy was working in her craft room at home. Her crafts were called "Mary Jane's Originals". She was a craft vendor at many shows in Florida and also locally. Her purses and carry bags were very popular. Jane made many craft items as gifts for her loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Jane is survived by her husband, Wayne Buzzell; sister, Becky Euhus; and brother, Mike Bollinger. Also the numerous nieces and nephews who were the loves of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth Ann Ernst and Dorothy Seyller; brothers, Tim Bollinger, Ed Bollinger and Jerry Bollinger; nephews, Kevin Hills and Michael Paul Bollinger; niece, Jessica Hills LaChance and sister-in-law, Marge Buzzell.
Her memorial visitation will be on Thursday, Sept. 12th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Butala Funeral Home in Sycamore.
Her memorial service will be on Friday, Sept. 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the Burlington United Methodist Church, 195 E. Center St., Burlington, IL 60109. The family will be at the church to greet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Charter Grove Cemetery Association or the Burlington Methodist Church in care of the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
