Mark Dodge, of Sycamore, IL went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

He will be dearly missed by so many, especially his wife, Terri, who was beside him for 48 years.  Mark was treasured by his siblings, his in-laws, his many nieces and nephews, and his friends.   His collies, Spirit and Dora, will be looking for him for a long time to come.

He was an avid gun person, and so valued the friendships he developed with his range friends.  Mark loved solving puzzles, enabling him to fix, design, or build whatever he set his mind to. He was ready to help anyone who needed him.   Since moving to Sycamore he has loved working in his beautiful yard, reading, and word puzzles.

He will be remembered for his generosity, his intelligence, his laugh, his loyalty, and his ability to love deeply.   We will miss him, but we will proceed as better people for having had him in our lives.

His Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, August 16th from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178. Please feel free to come in casual clothing.
