Marilyn Erion 1937-2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Joan Erion nee' Schneider on July 24, 2025.  She passed in her Sycamore, IL home while being cared for by her loving husband, Jim.  Her death occurred one week before her 88th birthday.  Marilyn was an incredibly loving, caring and generous soul.  She spent her life devoted to her family, friends and many canine companions.

Marilyn was born on July 31, 1937 in Evanston, IL to parents Joseph and Madeline Schneider.  She graduated from St, Joseph's Nursing School in Chicago, IL in 1958.  She spent 25 years at Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines, IL and retired as director of surgical nursing.  Also, she worked semi-retired at Golf Surgical in Des Plaines, IL for an additional 14 years.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James "Jim" Erion.  Brother: Mark (Claudette) Schneider.  Niece: Michelle(Eric) Tureson.  Great nieces: Anastasia, Corinna and Madeline Tureson.

Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Madeline Schneider and sister Jacqueline "Jackie" Sheppard.

Services to be held on Thursday, July 31st from 11:00-1:00 PM at Butala Funeral Home, 1405 Dekalb Ave.,  Sycamore, IL.  The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Sycamore.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Marilyn's name to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 322 Waterman St., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
