Margaret Marie Groth, 90 of Genoa Illinois died peacefully on October 27, 2025 at Kishwaukee Hospital, DeKalb, Illinois
She was born April 30, 1935 in Kingston, Illinois to Harley and Kathleen (Jones) Ball
She married Verl Groth on January 15, 1955 and were happily married for 67 years.
Many local businesses in Genoa were fortunate enough to have Margaret as an employee.
Automatic electric, Data Documents, Duval's Variety, Genoa Bakery, and she Retired from Glidden's pharmacy after many years of service.
Margaret enjoyed shopping, reading, and making homemade quilts which she shared with many family and friends.
Margaret loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart.
Margaret is survived by her 3 children, David ( Phyllis) Groth, Linda ( Curt) Bugna, Brenda ( Allen) Stark; 8 grandchildren, Samantha (Andre) Magoch, Sara Bugna, Miles Bugna, Lindsey Stark, Michael Stark, Kristen Stark ( fiancé Kyle Glennon), Hannah (Paul) Provo, Haley Groth; 2 great grandchildren, Gabriella Navarro and Giuliana Magoch; along with many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.
We want to give extra thanks to Bonnie who was not only her niece but a best friend. They had so many fun times shopping laughing and doing lots of crazy things! They were birthday twins and celebrated every year doing something fun. Bonnie was her personal hairdresser and never failed to help out if mom needed her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years; her parents; 2 brothers, Ray Ball, Owen Ball; and 4 Sisters, Norma Clucas-Guinn, Beverly Ball, Doris Johnson, and Helen Peterson.
Services and burial will be private.
