Obituary

Marcella Joy Higgins Ulrich, 60, of Sycamore passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Bethany Health Care Center in DeKalb.

She was born on August 23, 1961, the daughter of Elmo "Bud"  and Joan (Anderson) Higgins.  Marcy attended Sycamore schools and graduated from the Sycamore High School, Class of 1979.
After high school, Marcy was employed by DeKalb Swine Breeders.  She married Tom Ulrich on August 1, 1981.  She was an owner-operator of the Maple Park Country Store along side Tom.  She was employed for the past 14 years at Menards and in recent years was a department manager.
Survivors include Tom (Judy) Anderson of DeKalb, Sally Peterson, many beloved cousins, Tom Ulrich, Lorraine Ulrich, Scott (Bea) Ulrich, Dean Ulrich, Ken Ulrich and family, a host of friends and her beloved pet "Chance".
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and uncle Frank and aunt Doris Higgins.
Marcy was an animal lover, so in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be sent to Tails Humane Society, 2250 Barber Greene Road, DeKalb, IL. or in care of the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
A private family service will be held on Monday, November 8th at 10:00 AM at the Butala Funeral Home in Sycamore with burial to follow at the Afton Cemetery.
