Lynda Carol Stroud, 85, of Genoa, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, surrounded by love and family.

Born in Sycamore, Illinois on February 27, 1940, she was the daughter of Hugo Carl Wolf and Freda Mae (Montgomery) Wolf.  Lynda loved her family, loved hosting summer pool gatherings, and loved her Savior.  She was an active member in two congregations—Crosswind Community Church in Genoa and Beacon Hill Church in Byron.  She married Earl Eugene Stroud in Genoa on June 22, 1958.  They were married 57 years before Earl's passing in 2016.

Survivors include three children, Cindy (Jim) Dunlea of Shawsville VA, Dyanne (Russ) Cline of Byron IL, and Mark (Teresa) Stroud of Kingston IL; sister Donna Lee Miller of Woodstock, IL; 19 grandchildren- (of Jim and Cindy Dunlea)- Joshua, Caleb, Rebekah, Andrew, Angela, Melissa, Benjamin, Amanda, Jonathan, and Abigail, (of Russ and Dyanne Cline)- Kevin, Eric, David, Amy and Keith, (of Mark and Teresa Stroud)- Kayla, Kimberly, Ashley, and Marcus;  and many, many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Alice Paulson, and her twin sister, Louise Muhl.

There will be a private graveside service Friday, April 4 at Highland Garden of Memories, Belvidere IL with Rev. James Freund officiating.

A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held on Sunday, April 27, at Crosswind Community Church 13100 Cherry Road, Genoa IL with Pastor Gary Roca and Pastor Gary Cortese officiating.  Service will begin at 1:30 pm.
