The light in the world dimmed when Lisbeth Paul Krogman passed away on March 14, 2024 in DeKalb, Illinois.  "Beth" to most, and "Liz" to family, the second daughter of Tom and Virginia Paul lived a life dedicated to making the world a safer, kinder, and healthier place for many through establishment of or participation in organizations such as Hospice, Meals on Wheels and Adult Literacy.   She was instrumental in the development of a recycling program in Northfield, Illinois, another community which was her home for many years.   In so many ways she sought to better the lives of those around her.  Later in life, she pursued a Master's degree in Social Work and she then worked for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago.

Also a lifelong dog lover, she was often happiest while in the company of her canine friends, the most recent of which was "Daniel the Spaniel."   She loved simple travel with her "Dear Bob" and she was a fierce Scrabble player who, it was noted, started every day with a "Cross Word."

She was a resident of Oak Crest - DeKalb Area Retirement Center for the past decade and she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert (Bob), and by her son John.  She is survived by her other four children - Mark, David, Francie, and William , by five grandchildren - Logan, Maddie, Jacqui, Katie, and Corey, and by four great grandchildren - Jordan, Tessa, Lucas, and Olivia.

A memorial service is planned for May of this year.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an Episcopal charity, to the local Voluntary Action Center or to the charity of one's choice.
