Linda M. Drake's Obituary
Linda M. Drake, 68 of Kingston, IL. died suddenly on April 4, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM.
She was born on June 11, 1954 in Sycamore to Robert and Ilene (Lee) Stover. She was a graduate of the Sycamore High School and life-long resident of DeKalb County. She married David R. Drake on June 17, 1972 in Sycamore.
Linda worked as a veteran service officer in DeKalb County for over 11 years and was a member of the DeKalb County VietNow, the VFW Auxiliary in Sycamore and the American Legion Auxiliary. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many dear friends.
Survivors include her husband, David; son, Benjamin (Jessica) Drake; daughter, Jessica Barber; her grandchildren, Kayla (Jose) Rameriz, Jakob, Mitchell and Prestin Barber, Tyler and Lombardi Drake, Lucas, Michael and Zakk Carrier; two great grandchildren,
Theo and Luna; four brothers, Steve (Shelly), Edwin, Rick and Bobby Stover; three brothers-in-law, Leroy (Barb), Richard and Gerald (Mary) Drake; three sisters-in-law, Doris Sloniker, Nancy Cockfield and Colleen Stover; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin infant daughters; son, Christopher Drake; brother, David Stover; father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Lillian Drake; sisters-in-law, Betty Hall, Nora and Elsie Drake; and brothers-in-law, Harold, Rodney and Eugene Drake, Ernest Sloniker and Richard Hall.
Her services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Sycamore VFW-Post 5768 in care of the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
